ISLE OF MAN – The Microgaming Health & Care Trust’s most recent donation has enabled the purchase of new equipment at CIRCA Isle of Man.
Located in Douglas at Level 2, Chester Street Car Park, the Centre for Information Resource Care and Assistance (CIRCA) is a registered charity on the Isle of Man that was established in 1994. CIRCA manages an online charity database and information centre which is available to local residents and visitors requiring information on island based charities and the range of services they provide.
The charity is also widely recognised for running the Shopmobility Scheme, which offers a range of manual and powered wheelchairs, walkers and electric scooters for hire at their Douglas centre. In addition to providing aided shopping trips for individuals with limited mobility in the island’s capital.
Recognising the excellent facilities and the far-reaching benefits CIRCA contributes to the local community, the Microgaming Health & Care Trust has donated £5,000 to enable the purchase of new laptops to support the ongoing management of CIRCA’s information centre and database. The donation will also pay for new reception seating, which the charity hopes will better accommodate people with restricted mobility visiting the centre, as well as new equipment for meeting rooms which will be available for hire by local organisations.
John Hall, Chairman of the Board of CIRCA, comments: “We are absolutely thrilled to have received this grant from the Microgaming Health & Care Trust. The work of the charity in providing mobility solutions and a local volunteer service is vital to the Isle of Man community and thanks to the generosity of the Trust we are now able to update our computer equipment and customer reception area to allow us to continue running our services.”
Dr. Roy Clague, Chairman of the Microgaming Health Care & Trust, adds: “CIRCA’s dedication to delivering this important service to the Isle of Man is very admirable, and it made the decision by the Trustees to offer a donation, a very simple one. The purchase of the new laptops and office furniture will put the charity in the best possible position to continue with their positive work in the community.”
